In case you missed it, your free game lineup through PlayStation+ for March, 2017 is now live. Arguably the hottest title in the lineup is Tearaway Unfolded, a game met with critical acclaim from British developer Media Molecule. According to them, "Tearaway™ Unfolded for PlayStation®4 is an expanded retelling of the BAFTA award-winning Tearaway™. The adventure that was once held in your hands has been reimagined as a world inside your TV, with a bigger, more beautiful world to explore, and all new fourth-wall-busting ways to play." I've had this game on my wishlist for a while and I'm very excited to be getting my hands on a shiny new copy without forking over any extra cash. Thanks PlayStation! The fine folks at We Got This Covered have a fabulous review.
Also up for the PS4 is Disc Jam from High Horse Entertainment. According to their website this is the first, and currently only, game they've released. Pasta Padre says the game draws "natural comparisons to Rocket League [and] looks to be utilizing its playbook for success", going so far as to suggest "Disc Jam has demonstrated the potential to generate word-of-mouth from its beta period and it has the formula to build itself into an eSport." The full article is available here.
Finishing off the PS4 lineup is Lumo from Rising Star Games, touted on the official PlayStation Store page as "the rebirth of a genre – a classic isometric adventure with a modern twist for gamers young and old alike!" Dalton Cooper at Game Rant says, "while it has its flaws, it’s probably as good as an isometric throwback can be. Gamers that grew up with the genre will enjoy Lumo for its nostalgic kick..." The full review can be read here.
On the PlayStation 3 side is the awkwardly titled 2D fighting game Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late developed by French Bread. Hey Poor Player gave it 4/5, saying "if you’re a fan of Blazblue, Melty Blood, and other anime-style fighters, you’ll certainly find plenty of enjoyment to be had with French Bread’s latest fighter. So grab a friend and an extra controller and get ready for one hell of a throw-down, because Under Night In-Birth delivers the goods." Your other PS3 game is Earth Defense Force 2025 from D3 Publisher of America. Matthew Pollesel over at Gaming Age gave it an A- and said, "it's a game that's never about anything more than having a blast (and, of course, blowing up bugs, space robots and buildings) — what more could anyone want?" Here's the full review.
And finally you can load up your Vita with Lumo and Severed from Drinkbox Studios. Kyle Wakeling over at The Vita Lounge said of Severed, "in the end, there’s very little that I can say about Severed that isn’t a glowing praise. They’ve pulled off a unique mix of dungeon crawler, touch battle, and puzzle game that had me floored right ’til 100% completion, and then had me go back for yet another run through soon after. The one thing that I will say however, is that I wish there was simply more to play." Sounds like Vita players will find a great time in this one! Here is his full review.
That does it for this month's lineup of PlayStation+ free games. As always, happy gaming!
